The Library has world-class collections related to Hawai\u2019i, the Pacific Islands region, as well as China, Japan, Korea, Okinawa, the Philippines, Russia, South Asia, and Southeast Asia which support campus programs and researchers from across the globe. With&nbsp;a commitment to excellence, innovation, diverse ideas, global understanding, as well as western, non-western, and indigenous ways of knowing, we select and create, organize and protect, provide and teach access to resources that enable the creation of new knowledge in all its forms. The Center for Pacific Islands Studies, Center for Philippine Studies, and Center for Southeast Asian Studies are major campus centers that promote the interdisciplinary study of Southeast Asia and the Pacific. Our Southeast Asian, Philippines, and Pacific Collections support students, faculty and international scholars.\n<h3>Librarian II Minimum Qualifications<\/h3>\n<p><br data-pasted=\"true\">1. A Master\u2019s degree in library or information science from a program accredited by the American<br>Library Association or from a college or university of recognized standing.<br>2. Professionalism in meeting and conferring with others.<br>3. Cataloging coursework or demonstrated experience, including the application of controlled<br>vocabularies.<br>4. Good oral and written communication skills in English.<br>5. Demonstrated attention to detail.<\/p>\n<h3>Librarian III Minimum Qualifications<\/h3>\n<p>1. A Master\u2019s degree in library or information science; in addition to the Master\u2019s degree, 24 post-<br>baccalaureate credits of academic study; and at least three years of appropriate experience.<br>2. Professionalism in meeting and conferring with others.<br>3. Cataloging coursework or demonstrated experience, including the application of controlled<br>vocabularies.<br>4. Good oral and written communication skills in English.<br>5. Demonstrated attention to detail.<\/p>\n<h3>Librarian IV Minimum Qualifications<\/h3>\n<p>1. A Master\u2019s degree in library or information science; a second Master\u2019s degree in a specialized<br>subject area; and seven years of appropriate experience or four years in the rank of Librarian III.<br>2. Professionalism in meeting and conferring with others.<br>3. Cataloging coursework or demonstrated experience, including the application of controlled<br>vocabularies.<br>4. Good oral and written communication skills in English.<br>5. Demonstrated attention to detail.<\/p>\n<h3>Desirable Qualifications<\/h3>\n<p><br data-pasted=\"true\">1. Experience in the application of current cataloging standards, including RDA, LC-PCC PS, and<br>MARC21 formats.<br>2. Experience with LC Classification.<br>3. Experience with LCSH.<br>4. Experience as a NACO, SACO, and BIBCO contributor.<br>5. Experience cataloging or describing non-monographic materials such as serials, audiovisual, or<br>online materials and\/or archives.<br>6. Experience with a library management system (e.g., Ex Libris Alma) and OCLC cataloging software<br>(e.g., Connexion client).<br>7. Reading knowledge of one or more non-indigenous languages in addition to English. Such as French,<br>Dutch, German, or Spanish.<br>8. Reading knowledge of one or more Southeast Asian and\/or Pacific Island languages.<br>9. Knowledge of Southeast Asian and\/or Pacific Island cultures.<br>10. Familiarity with area studies and\/or special collections librarianship and cataloging.<br>11. Familiarity with reparative description efforts, alternative vocabularies, and indigenous knowledge<br>organization.<br>12. Experience with project management.<br>13.
