DUTIES: 
Prepare original cataloging for library materials in all formats in Asian languages (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc.), as well as English, using LC Classification schedules, LC Subject Headings, RDA, AACR2, MARC formats, OCLC, and Polaris. Evaluate and edit cataloging copy of OCLC participating libraries for use by the Chicago Public Library. Identify and perform database maintenance projects for Asian language records in Polaris. Create and submit authority records to the Library of Congress’s NACO program. Conduct work using Cataloger’s Desktop, Classification Web, and Microsoft Office. Attend regular meetings, workshops, and training classes; participate in library committee work and staff training; and perform related duties as assigned.The application period for this position is open from February 13 through March 4.Applications are online only at www.cityofchicago.org/careers.
