Join CEAL | Renew Membership

To be a CEAL member, you must be a current member of the AAS. Please check your AAS membership status at the AAS membership portal site (https://members.asianstudies.org/account/login.aspx) and update if necessary before the CEAL membership process.

  1. Check your AAS membership status, and make a CEAL membership due payment online
    • Log into the AAS membership portal site https://members.asianstudies.org/account/login.aspx with your credential information or create your account.
    • On your AAS account page, from the Overview tab, you can check your AAS membership status and your AAS account number. You will need your AAS account number for the CEAL membership online application form. *For those making a payment by check, skip the following steps and proceed to “Section 2. Submit application for your membership”.
    • From the top menu of the AAS membership portal, hover your mouse onto Donate, and click on Make Sponsored Group Payments/Donations.
    • Choose Council on East Asian Libraries (CEAL) and click on Donate.
    • Follow the instructions for the donation on the next page and make a payment as instructed below: (Please note that the amount reflects a 7% credit card service fee).
      • $48.00 — Regular membership fee for next year’s membership renewal submitted on or after November 1
      • $37.50 — Early bird discounted rate for next year’s membership renewal submitted before November 1
      • $37.50 — New membership fee, applicable year-round for new members
    • The payment confirmation email from AAS (info@asianstudies.org) will be sent to your registered email address.
    • The cut-off time will be based on Eastern Time, the time zone in which the AAS office is located.
  2. Submit application for membership
    • Please fill in: CEAL Membership Application Form 
    • After submitting the online form, forward the payment confirmation from AAS (received by email or you can download the pdf from Recent Orders of Purchases tab in your AAS account page) to the Treasurer by email (ericalu@upenn.edu).
    • For those making the payment by check, write a check in the amount of 
      • $45.00Regular membership fee for next year’s membership renewal submitted on or after November 1
      • $35.00 — Early bird discounted rate for next year’s membership renewal submitted before November 1
      • $35.00 — New membership fee, applicable year-round for new members
      • The cut-off time will be determined based on the postmark date and time. 
      • Please make the check payable to “The Association of Asian Studies, Inc” with your AAS membership number in the “memo”section of the check. Then, mail it to the address below.
