Equity and Access in Higher Education and Academic Libraries amid the COVID-19 Pandemic

Dear CEAL colleagues:

This is a follow-up message regarding my earlier posting on the Joint Statement via Eastlib: Equity and Access in Higher Education and Academic Libraries amid the COVID-19 Pandemic (dated July 31, 2020).

A total of 283 library professionals signed the statement in the past two weeks.

For your information, I am sharing some next steps for the joint statement task force to follow up:

• The joint statement will be published in various area studies library associations’ websites.
  • CEAL has published it here: https://www.eastasianlib.org/newsite/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Equity-and-Access-in-Higher-Education-and-Academic-Libraries-Final-August-17.pdf
• The joint statement will be shared with ARL, CRL and HathiTrust.
• The joint statement task force will be working on meetings with the administrators/the board members of ARL, CRL and HathiTrust.
